Peace Through Scripture Study

I add my voice with this promise: as you dedicate time every day, personally and with your family, to the study of God’s word, peace will prevail in your life. That peace won’t come from the outside world. It will come from within your home, from within your family, from within your own heart. It will be a gift of the Spirit. It will radiate out from you to influence others in the world around you. You will be doing something very significant to add to the cumulative peace in the world.

Include the Lord

As you exercise that agency and include Him in every aspect of your daily life, your heart will begin to fill with peace, buoyant peace. That peace will focus an eternal light on your struggles. It will help you to manage those challenges from an eternal perspective.

My Thoughts on Peace and Comfort Through the Atonement

God knew that life would not be easy for any one of us.  Life is hard and burdens come to us all, but God did not leave us comfortless.  Part of the plan of salvation was providing for us to have peace and joy even amidst the pain and anguish.  God provided us with the Holy Ghost so that we can gain peace and comfort in a way that the world can never offer it.  Through the Atonement Christ knows how we feel and how we will best be helped.  Through the Atonement He offers us peace and comfort.  Our burdens can be lifted and lightened.  One of the ways this happens is through us helping each other.  It is our responsibility as member of His church to look for those who need help and need lifting.  The Lord does help us, but often it is by the hands of one of His other children.  We go to the Lord to ask for strength and comfort, then we look around for ways that we can offer strength and comfort to those around us.  It is a beautiful system He has devised.

My Thoughts on Following Christ

Christ has set the perfect example for us to live by.  If we will follow His example we will become the man or woman that we have the potential of becoming.  There is so much that we can learn about Jesus if we will study the scriptures.  I know that the more time and effort I put into studying the scriptures the closer I feel to the Savior and to my Heavenly Father.  It is something that needs to be done on a daily basis so that daily I can grow closer to them.  The Savior went through so much so that He could have empathy for us and so that He could succor us.  I know that if I study His life and follow His example I can find peace and happiness in this life.

Blessing of the Temple

“As we enter through the doors of the temple, we leave behind us the distractions and confusion of the world. Inside this sacred sanctuary, we find beauty and order. There is rest for our souls and a respite from the cares of our lives.”

“My brothers and sisters, in our lives we will have temptations; we will have trials and challenges. As we go to the temple, as we remember the covenants we make there, we will be better able to overcome those temptations and to bear our trials. In the temple we can find peace.”
